Sharing and privacy
What do "Live updates, history and notifications" do?
With the switch on, a list updates by itself, keeps a browsable history and allows reminders. With it off, a page shows the state from when it loaded.
Live updates, history and notifications is the second sharing switch of a list. Like the other one, it is off for every new list until an owner turns it on.
When it is on
- Pages update by themselves. When someone saves a ballot, the pages of the other members refresh. Changed places are tinted for a moment, and the header shows a Live badge and a line such as "Updated just now · Ben placed 3 movies".
- Your own work is safe. A refresh waits while you are still saving a change.
- History. The ranking page gets a History button. See How do I see how the result changed?.
- Reminders. Owners can nudge members whose turn it is. See How do I remind someone to vote?.
- Telegram. When the operator of your TopX has connected a Telegram chat, changes to the group result are posted there. You have no setting for it.
List cards show a Live badge for these lists.
When it is off
A page shows the list as it was when you opened it. A note on the page says "Live updates and history are off for this list" and asks you to reload to see what changed. There is no History button, and owners cannot send reminders.
The list still records every change while the switch is off. If an owner turns it on later, the earlier history is there.
