How do I show a list in a video or stream?
Present mode shows your board, the group result and the comparisons full screen, without the rest of TopX.
Open present mode
Open a list on a computer with a window at least 1024 pixels wide and press P, or select Present next to Help at the top of the list. The app header, the list header, notices and settings disappear; only the presentation stays. Press F for browser full screen. Esc leaves full screen first and present mode with the next press. A reload keeps the scene you were on.
Present mode is not available on phones or while you look at an earlier result in History.
Scenes
Each scene has a number. Press it, or use ← and →:
Every list has the scenes Board, Group, Community, Group vs community, Creator vs community and Me vs group, in this order:
- Board: your tier list, your Ladder or your scores, still editable (on a point-scale list, tap a score to change it).
- Group: the group result. On a tier list it is the group tier list; on ranking and point-scale lists every item of the group result in one column (with the group scores on a point-scale list), and a small podium in the top right corner beside it.
- Community: the community result as one list, headed by its vote count.
- Group vs community, Creator vs community and Me vs group: two lists side by side.
A scene only shows what you can see on the list page. The community scenes appear once the community link has votes. When you may read every ballot, B shows the next member's ballot and Shift+B the previous one.
The vs scenes put two lists side by side. A mark on the right side shows how far an item moved: rows on a tier list (↑2), or spots within the same tier (←1 further left, →1 further right, counted among the items both sides have in that tier), places on a ranking list (↓1) and points on a point-scale list (+1.5). Every vs scene also shows the agreement value from 0 to 100 %, the same value as on the list page.
Long ranking and point-scale lists are split into pages. Page Down and Page Up move between them; the key hint at the bottom shows the page.
Choose what is on the screen
Each element over the scene has its own key, and TopX remembers your choice in this browser:
| Key | Element |
|---|---|
| T | Title |
| S | Scene bar |
| C | Ballot and vote counts |
| Q | Community link and QR code (owners and admins, while the link is open) |
| A | Agreement |
| D | Difference marks |
| N | Item names |
| K | Key hint |
| L | Tile layout: every item as a square picture with its name, as on tier-list sites (tier lists) |
| O | Dark stage: lights off, a dark page with the tier colours (tier lists) |
H hides everything for a clean shot; H again brings your choice back. The tile layout and the dark stage stay as they are. ? lists every key. N turns the names off and leaves only the pictures: large squares with the tile layout, smaller squares without it. Together with the dark stage, a tier list looks as it does on TierMaker or TierBuddy.
Record or stream it
Recording software such as OBS can capture the browser window or the whole screen. In full screen only the presentation is captured. In a window, crop the browser's tab and address bar; everything below them is the presentation.
