What is the "Decide by" date?
An optional day by which the group wants a result. It shows on the list and starts the owners' reminder. It does not lock voting.
Decide by is an optional date. It tells the group when you want to have a result, for example the day before the film night.
Set it
- Create or edit a list. The Decide by field is in the first step, with the name, description and category.
- Pick a date. Leave the field empty if there is no deadline.
Only a day is stored, no time. Dates are read as calendar days in UTC, so the day can differ by a few hours from your local time.
What it does
- The list card and the list page show a pill: "Decide by Fri 11 Oct". The day after the date it reads "Closed Fri 11 Oct".
- If the list has live updates on, its owners see a reminder on Home when the date is three days away or closer and someone still has their turn. The reminder offers a nudge.
- Nudge emails mention the date.
What it does not do
The date does not lock the list. Members can still vote and change their ballot after it, and the group result keeps updating.
