How do I place items in tiers?
Drag each item into a tier from S to D, or tap it and pick a tier and a spot. Items you don't know go to Don't know it.
On a tier list your ballot is the tier board: one row per tier, S at the top and D at the bottom. Inside a tier, the items are in order too: the first item is the best of that tier.
Place your items
- Open the list. Items you haven't placed yet wait in To place.
- Drag an item into a tier row, at the spot where it belongs.
- To move an item later, drag it to another tier or another spot.
You don't have to drag. Tap an item and choose its tier, then its spot inside the tier. At the end is chosen for you, so two taps place an item. For an item from To place, the dialog then offers the next one. Close the dialog to stop.
On a phone the rows wrap, so a full tier takes several lines.
Your ballot saves by itself after every move. When every item is in a tier or in Don't know it, the list shows You're done.
Items you don't know
Put an item you have never seen, tasted or heard in Don't know it. It does not count for or against the item. You can move it into a tier later.
The group tier list
TopX gives every item a place from each ballot that has it in a tier. The first item of S is close to 0, the last item of S close to 1, the first item of A just above 1, and so on. The group place is the average of those places, and the group tier is the tier it falls into. For example, when each person's S and B hold one item each, an item that two people put in S and one in B gets the places 0.5, 0.5 and 2.5: the average 1.17 falls in A.
Open an item to see its group place and how many people put it in each tier. Items that nobody has placed yet show under Not placed yet, with how many people don't know them.
A tier list holds up to 50 items by default.
