AI assistants
Why do I see two Claudes in my connections?
Claude on the web and Claude Code both call themselves Claude. The "connects from" line tells them apart.
Every connection on the AI assistants page is one assistant you approved. The assistant names itself, and Claude uses the same name in its web app, its desktop app and Claude Code.
Tell them apart
Each card shows where the assistant connects from:
- claude.ai: the Claude web app.
- an app on your computer: Claude Code or the Claude desktop app.
The card also shows the browser that approved it, when it was connected and when it was last used.
Give each one a name
- Press Add a name on the card, or choose Rename in its menu.
- Type a name such as "Claude on my laptop" and press Save. A name takes up to 60 characters.
A named card shows the name as its title and the assistant's own name beside it. The name helps when you decide which connection to disconnect.
